Jaylen Osei will take the floor Friday against Coldwater Union with 976 career points — 24 short of a number only six players in Halden Prep history have reached.

Osei has scored 24 or more in five of fourteen games this season, and he has not scored fewer than eleven since the Wexford Classic.

“He knows the number. Everybody in the building knows the number,” said head coach Renata Vasquez. “What I like is that he has not taken a single bad shot chasing it.”

Halden enters the game 11–3, second in the Corbin Valley League, and riding a four-game winning streak.

Halden held Ashgrove Academy to 33 percent shooting in the second half to take a 64–59 decision on the road, its fourth straight win.

Diego Ferreira pulled down fourteen rebounds — nine of them defensive — and blocked four shots. Marcus Delacroix drew two charges in the fourth quarter.

The Hawks return home Friday to host Coldwater Union.

Halden opened the Wexford Classic with a comfortable 74–52 win over Tanner Hill before falling 72–69 to Bellhaven Prep in the semifinal the following night.

Aaron Whitlock scored a career-high 21 in the opener on seven three-point attempts.

The Bellhaven loss is Halden’s only defeat since the season’s opening fortnight.

Halden will honour seniors Jaylen Osei, Marcus Delacroix and Tobias Renner before the February 6 home game against Ashgrove Academy.

Ceremonies begin at 6:30 PM; tip-off is at 7:00 PM. Families are asked to arrive by 6:15 PM for photographs.
